1. When is the best time to start planning my lawn?
 
Everyone's first thought in the spring is to get outside and start planting.  After a long winter, we all have cabin fever and are eager to get moving and work in the yard. However, if you are just now starting to develop a lawn, you really should wait until the fall. Newly planted fescue typically does not mature in time to brave our Virginia summer heat and drought. Waiting until early fall will yield better long-term results for your lawn.
