What's the right type of patio for you?

Learn more about the differences between our economy, premium, and estate patios.

Estate Patio

When you want it to look like it has always been there.
A Premium Patio and an Estate Patio may not look much different after 6-18 months. But sometimes, you just need it to look like we were never there at all! Some features included with the Estate Patio are grading, cleaning, sodding and sometimes adding landscaping around the area. Anywhere we've disturbed- we fix and adjust to make it look complete. There may be a few areas that still need to fill in, but you won't be waiting for seed to germinate or washing off your driveway.
The average price per square foot for this type of patio is $35.

Premium Patio

When you want the big stuff taken care of.
While we may disrupt much of your yard, we will put it back together. We are leaving you set up with all the big hurdles covered, including grading out the yard, seeding disturbed area, laying out straw blankets, and washing off the areas disturbed by the construction. There may be small tweaks left for you to cover, but the construction will be completed, and so will a majority of the cleanup. We also have a broader range of pavers and textures available with this package.
The average price per square foot for this type of patio is $30

Economy Patio

When you don't mind a bit of sweat equity.
The process of building a patio can be a bit messy. We have small machines that we use to excavate the space and move materials around. They usually leave shallow ruts and disturb the soil in the yard as we traffic back and forth. For these economy projects, we do not fix these ruts or re-seed the area, and the patio will not be fully graded. Of course, we install the patio with our normal care and consideration, but it will be your responsibility to clean up afterwards.
The average price per square foot for this type of patio is $25.

What else should you expect?

Outdoor Kitchens
Having a built-in grill can change the way you live outside. Never having to change a propane tank again is arguably one of the best benefits. Our kitchens come in all shapes and sizes. Bar seating, smoker installs, sinks, hibachi, side burners, fridges- the list goes on. We talk a bit about it here. Expect to spend $10,000 to start. You'll have a built-in grill, gas line run, a few lights, under cabinet storage, maybe a fridge, and a bit of granite counter space for food prep.

Excess Soil Removal
Installation of a new patio generally creates a lot of soil. Our typically excavation depth is 7-8". If you have a place to leave it on-site, awesome! If it needs to be hauled away, we typically charge $1.5 per square foot.
Variation of Color
Are you interested in including a variety of colors into your patio? It doesn’t always cost extra. Occasionally though, if we need to order additional pallets of pavers for a mix of colors, there can be an additional fee. This typically ranges between $300-$1,000, depending on how creative you want to get!

Drainage
Many patios are located near a downspout. If we need to reroute a downspout under or around a patio, it is no problem for us to do. We typically use 4" PVC with an adapter to a yard pop-up or drain cap. This keeps the water off your patio and protects your investment. Typically, this runs between $750-1,500.
Irrigation
Moving a few irrigation heads is not usually a big deal. We work with Southwell Irrigation to make sure your irrigation system fits perfectly around your new patio. Occasionally, there may be a valve box or main line in the way. If this is the case, we move these around and get them out of your space. The average price tag for adjusting irrigation is $175, but this can quickly grow if their are major issues.
Lighting
This is the fun part! Lighting up a space truly makes it pop. Low-voltage lighting brings a certain ambiance to the space. Nothing kills the mood like sitting around a fire pit with an oppressive flood light in your eyes. There are several ways to add lighting. These can include cap lights along the edges, up-lights along the home, path lights along the edge, or even lights incorporated into the actual pavers. Our lighting systems are generally WiFi-enabled with their own transformer and rarely draw more power than charging a cellphone. Expect to invest anywhere between $900 to $4,ooo for lighting.

Seating Walls
Add the perfect permanent seating to your space. We can create simple walls or benches with backs. These provide an ideal place to sit around the fire pit and roast marshmallows. A typical 15' wall costs about $2,700, while creating one with a high back and columns will add about $8,000.

Fire Pits
Large or small? Gas or wood-burning? Iron or stone? Round or square? Stone caps or none? We have multiple options available. Expect to spend $1,500 for a simple stone fire pit glued in place on top of the patio. If you’re looking for a built-in fire pit with caps, expect to spend about $2,000-$3,000. Want to add the option of gas with lava rock? Expect to add another $3,000 to $3,500 for the plumber, connection, and equipment.

Fireplace
Fire pits are great to gather around. What if you wanted to sit in front of a fire in a more contained space? This may seem to be a subtle difference, but fireplaces can offer certain advantages. We will frequently install fireplaces for our clients who don't want to smell like smoke after every backyard fire. Our fireplaces are $9,500. If you would like to add a woodbox or two, add another $1,500 a piece.

Elevation Change
Sometimes the grade may fall off or climb in the space you want the patio built. A small wall may be needed to adjust the grade. Sometimes, we can use soil to backfill grade change. The price range for these type of remedies is wide. It could be as low as few hundred, or as much as a few thousand.
Pools & More
Don’t limit your imagination. Ready to take a dunk? We’ve partnered with River Pools & Spas to create the ultimate backyards. Our turn-key pool spaces start in the low-$100,000’s and climb from there.
