The primary goal of a rain garden is to capture run-off from hard surfaces such as roofs, driveways, and sidewalks in order to evaporate the water or allow it to be used by the soil and trees. Another benefit of rain gardens is to attract native wildlife and give them a natural habitat.
Where should a rain garden be installed? Look for a space along areas where water is flowing.
