      Types of Fire Features

      Outdoor fire features come in all shapes and sizes. The four main categories are fire pits, fire bowls, fire tables, and fireplaces.

      Fire Pits

      Fire pits are probably the most common and versatile type of outdoor fire feature. They come in a range of materials, sizes, and styles to fit any backyard.

       

      Materials: Typically constructed from concrete paver block and brick. These are the classic look blending into landscaping seamlessly. Pre-fabricated metal fire pits are also available, affordable, and low maintenance.

       

      Sizes: Standard fire pits range from 3-5 feet in diameter but can be as small as 2 feet for cozy gatherings or over 5 feet for larger crowds. Portable fire pits could be used if the space is compact, allow the space to be converted based on the seasons.

       

      Styles: Choose from classic bowl or ring shapes, or a square fire pit for a more modern look. There are also metal covers to convert the fire pit into table use during the off-season. There are quite a few options! It’s easy to find the perfect fire pit to match your style, needs, and budget.

      Fire & Water Features

      Looking for something you don’t see everyday?! Definitely stand apart with these fire and water features. Seemingly defying the odds there are two ways to combine these elements. 

       

      The first is a simple drop-in canister, these fit well in any of our stacked slate spheres or urns. These units use parafin oil, like mosquito fighter or similar. These units will burn for 3-4 hours before needing to be filled up again. They burn from a fiber wick that can last years. Very easy, very fun!

       

      The second is a bit more complicated but is totally epic! These units are run off propane or natural gas. These can stand alone fountains or be combined with any pond, fountain, or water feature.

      Fire Tables

      Fire tables are freestanding outdoor tables designed with gas burners in the center. We frequently use granite to create a uniform surface perfect for setting food and refreshments on. These create an intimate setting for gatherings and providing warmth on cool evenings. 

       

      Opt for a taller model and enjoy bar-height outdoor dining by the cozy flames. We can create circular, square, or rectangular tables. Just about any type of stone can be used to match existing walls, pavers, and structures. Fire tables can be placed on a patio, deck, or stone apron and pull up chairs or benches to create an intimate fireside lounge.

      Outdoor Fireplaces

      Outdoor fireplaces make a dramatic focal point for any patio or backyard. Frequently, we install these almost 9′ tall features where they make a statement right as you enter the backyard.

       

      Outdoor fireplaces bring a different experience to the backyard. Typically, fire pits are used to gather around while fireplaces seating is focused forward. The experience is frequently more reflective and calming. Outdoor fireplace can quickly become a favorite spot to relax alone or gather with friends and family.
